It was also an opportunity for CCHPR to launch its ESRC funded film which builds on this research project.

The aims of the workshop were to:

  • assess the viability of using new ideas based on tax incentives to boost the supply of affordable rented housing in the UK;
  • discuss what practical steps need to be taken to bring about a change in housing policy that will increase house building, and make housing more affordable for lower income households; and
  • promote an improved appreciation of the policy options for boosting affordable housing supply.
